2. Create your checklist template

SiteHound allows you to create an inspection checklist template using inspection groups and inspection items of varying types.  SiteHound supports items of text entry, time entry, date entry, numeric entry, yes/no question, single select list, multiple select list, picture, and contact types.  The numeric, yes/no, and select list item types allow inspectors to pre-define standard comments or recommendations that upon selection or passed test on the numeric entry will automatically be added to the detail and summary reports.

3. Perform your inspection with PC, laptop, or paper print out of the checklist

Performing inspections require navigation through the inspection groups and answering the varying types of questions on the form.  Inspectors have the ability to add ad-hoc notes to items and link pictures on the PC or laptop for each item as well.

3a. Perform inspection with a PDA

SiteHound offers a Windows Mobile solution that provides for the execution of inspections using PDAs instead of laptops or PCs.  The mobile solution replicates the process used on the PC except that you cannot link pictures on the PDA.  Performing inspections require navigation through the inspection groups and answering the varying types of questions on the form.  Inspectors have the ability to add ad-hoc notes to items and indicate if pictures were taken and need to be linked on the PC or laptop for each item as well.

4. Generate PDF report preview

By switching to the reports tab of the inspection form a user can select from a list of report templates, complete the appropriate report options, and generate a PDF report.  The PDF viewer allows the user to save, print, or e-mail the document directly from within SiteHound.  The user also has the ability to save report options so they are automatically pre-filled for the next inspection report.
